A Woman is Stabbed to Death in New Delhi in Broad Daylight
Understanding the mindset of witnesses who did not come forward to help her
So he witnesses the murder, goes home and asks his wife if she heard about the murder.
“It’s on every news channel,” she says. “How could it happen? Why didn’t anyone stop him?”
“I was there. I saw it,” he says.
“What do you mean you were there?”
“I was there. I saw it. From my own eyes. It happened three feet away from me.”
“Oh dear God, are you okay?”
“Yes, I was inside the shop. I watched from behind the door.”
“Why were you even watching? Why didn’t you hide?”
“I was hiding. I was safe. Trust me, he couldn’t see me.”
